Onsite Speech-Lanugage Screenings for Daycares in the Quad Cities
Early Communication Support — Conveniently at Your Childcare Center
LEAP Speech & Lactation partners with childcare centers and preschools throughout the Quad Cities, including Davenport, Bettendorf, Moline, Rock Island, Geneseo, and surrounding communities, to provide onsite speech-language screenings for children ages 18 months and up.
Screenings are conducted during the school day, designed to be brief and play-based, and require minimal classroom disruption.
Our goal is simple: help families gain early clarity about their child’s communication development - without adding extra work for directors or teachers.
Optional Speech & Language Screenings
Early communication skills develop rapidly. During this time, small delays can be easy to miss — or easy to address when identified early.
These private pay, play-based speech screenings look at:
Expressive and receptive language skills
Use of gestures and early communication
Speech sound development
Social engagement and play
Overall developmental communication patterns
Each screening is conducted one-on-one in a calm, child-friendly manner.
Families receive written feedback outlining:
Developmental strengths
Areas to monitor
Recommendations, if appropriate
Speech screenings are offered as a low-cost private pay service, with fees paid directly by families. This fee can then be applied to an evaluation by LEAP Speech & Lactation. There is no cost to the center to host.
If concerns are identified, families may choose their preferred next steps — whether that includes monitoring, private services, or exploring community resources.
There is no obligation to pursue therapy.
What Screening Day Looks Like
We keep the process simple and organized:
Your center selects a proposed date
Families opt in with electronic consent
Screenings are completed during the school day
Results are sent directly to families
Most screenings take 5-15 minutes per child.
Classroom flow remains the priority.
